Using Loyola Workspace

VMware Horizon Clients

Workspace can be accessed directly through a web browser, but the VMware Horizon Client can be installed for a more feature-rich experience.  To install the client, choose the correct version for your operating system (Windows/Mac/Linux):

Windows (10, 8.1, 7)

macOS

Linux 32-bit or Linux 64-bit

If you are prompted to enter a server address, press cancel--this step is not required to use Loyola Workspace.

Accessing Loyola Workspace

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://workspace.loyola.edu 
  2. If you are not already signed in, at the sign-in screen, enter your email address and press Next
  3. Enter your Loyola password and press Sign in
  4. You will be prompted for multi-factor authentication (learn more about multi-factor authentication)
  5. The list of available applications is displayed

Launching a Program

  1. If you have the VMware Horizon Client installed, you can simply click on any application to launch it.
  2. If you do not have the VMware Horizon Client installed, you can still use Loyola Workspace by opening applications in your browser:
    1. Click on your name in the top right-hand corner
    2. Choose Settings
    3. In the settings menu, choose Preferences
    4. Choose Browser and click Save
    5. Now, applications will launch in a new browser tab

Setting up bookmarks

You can mark frequently used applications as favorites so they are easier to find when you log in.

  1. Navigate to the "Catalog" view of all applications.
  2. Choose the "Bookmark" icon

Viewing bookmarks

  1. On the home screen, there are tabs under the search bar for "Bookmarks" and "Catalog."

  2. Select “Bookmarks."  You should now see just those apps you have bookmarked
